Houston and Boston

2024

Two women and one man dining at a restaurant, sharing a plate of spaghetti. The man is smiling while holding a fork with a strand of pasta. The woman has dark hair and is smiling, holding a fork. The restaurant has a brick wall and framed artwork in the background. A white table holds bowls of pasta and fried appetizers.
A woman wearing sunglasses, a brown leather jacket, and jeans standing on a city street with brick and beige buildings, a yellow taxi, a person on a bicycle, and other pedestrians.
So happy you’re here

Inspired by natural light (though I enjoy an occasional flash) and human connection, my shooting style sits somewhere between cinematic and documentary. If you're looking for images that feel nostalgic, grainy, and true to your story, you're in the right place.

Two young adults, a man and a woman, sit closely together on a beige sofa in a living room. The man is wearing a black sweater and has short dark hair, while the woman is dressed in a striped shirt with long dark hair. Behind them is a wooden stand with a black lamp, a large bottle of wine, and a brass object. There are decorative books stacked on a side table, and a colorful picture frame with a floral border on the table.

Capturing the essence of what it felt like

Close-up of a person with their arms crossed and their face partially visible, wearing a beige sleeveless top and a watch on their wrist.
A young couple embracing and sharing a kiss outdoors during sunset, sitting on a park bench with trees in the background.
A young couple sits together on a grassy lawn outside a white house with dark window shutters at sunset, facing each other closely and smiling.
A man and woman holding hands and smiling at each other during sunset by the beach.

Nice to meet you

I'm Catherine, a portrait & couples photographer currently living between Houston and Boston.

A little about me: I grew up in Houston, but moved to the Boston area for college. I enjoy watching movies (especially action and thrillers), although binge-watching shows happens to be entertaining too! Additionally, I like listening to podcasts and practicing yoga.

As for photography specifically: I began photography in high school, shooting senior portraits and small events for friends and family. What began as a small hobby eventually evolved into a medium for me to create honestly, inspiring me to capture the relationships of those I meet. Being self-taught has allowed me to constantly adapt my style by observing small details, experimenting, and trying again (especially in Lightroom).

An aspect I love is working with individuals and photographers from all over! It’s so rewarding to work with different people throughout various seasons of life, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity to do this because it’s like nothing else.

    kind words

“Cat was super fun and personable to work with! She is very deliberate with posing and has creative ideas for cinematic couples shoots that have a lot of feeling!”

    KIND words

“To say that Catherine is a gifted natural who pours her heart into her work would be an understatement! Upon meeting everything just felt so natural, it was our first time ever taking photos so we were nervous, but Catherine gave us the most incredible direction. We truly felt like we were on a date having the time of lives. There was no pressure, no awkwardness, all the nerves went away the second we met Catherine. I can’t believe these photos of us exist, they look straight out of a magazine.”

  • A couple is being shown, carrying her on a grassy outdoor cliffside, captured in black and white

    kind words

“She was the sweetest girl ever and made me feel super comfortable! I’m not very good at posing for the camera, but she guided me throughout the whole session. There was lots of communication beforehand, and the vision was captured perfectly!”

    — Isabel, Texas

  • Kind words

“We had such a great experience working with Cat! She made my husband and me feel so comfortable in front of the camera and gave us great direction throughout the session, making everything feel natural and easy. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful, and we couldn’t be happier with them. She was friendly, professional, and so much fun to work with. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer!”
